Sign in to E·BIZI ESS

There is no password. You prove who you are with your ID number and a six-digit code that E·BIZI ESS sends to the contact details your employer has on record for you.

Your employer gives you the address to open. If you do not have it, ask whoever runs your payroll.

The first field is labelled ID Number / Employee Code. Enter your South African ID number and choose Send Code.

The screen then tells you where the code went, with most of the address hidden, and counts down how long the code is good for. Type the six digits into Verification Code and choose Verify. That lands you on the dashboard.

A code lasts ten minutes and you get five tries at it. If you run out of either, choose Start over and request a new one.

Where the code goes

To the contact details on your employee record, which is why the screen shows you a masked version of the address: enough to recognise, not enough to read over your shoulder.

Only your employer can change what is on that record. If the address is not yours or is out of date, ask whoever runs your payroll to update it. See your personal details.

The code has not arrived

Check your junk mail first, then check the masked address on screen is the one you expect.

If it is the right address and nothing arrives, the code cannot be resent from anywhere else, so there is nothing to try twice. Ask whoever runs your payroll to confirm your contact details, then start again.

E·BIZI ESS cannot find you

If Send Code comes back saying nothing was found, the ID number you typed does not match an active employee record. Check the digits, then ask whoever runs your payroll to check the ID number on your record, since the match has to be exact.

Staying signed in

A sign-in lasts about an hour. When it runs out you are put back on the sign-in screen and need a new code, which is deliberate: it is your pay and your ID number on the other side of it.

Closing the tab also ends the session. Opening E·BIZI ESS again means signing in again.

Sign out

Choose the circle with your initials at the bottom of the sidebar, then Log out. Worth doing on a shared or work machine.

Switch between employers

If your ID number is on more than one E·BIZI payroll, E·BIZI ESS signs you into the first one it finds and the rest are in the company control at the bottom of the sidebar. Pick another one and the whole portal switches to it. You do not need a new code to switch.
