Set up your apps
E·BIZI Pay needs a few details before it will run. This screen collects them all at once, right after you subscribe, so you are not interrupted later.
What is required and what is not
Only three things are compulsory: your Bank, the Account holder name and the Account number. Everything else you can leave and come back to.
That is deliberate. Waiting for a PAYE reference from SARS should not stop you adding your staff and working out what a payroll run will cost you.
Bank account
This is the account salaries are paid from, and it is what the bank file for your payroll is built against.
Choose your Bank from the list. The Branch code fills in automatically with the bank's universal code, and you can change it if yours differs. Then enter the Account holder name and the Account number.
Default Bank File Format decides the layout of the payment file you download at the end of a payroll run. Pick the one your bank expects. Getting this wrong does not break anything permanently: you can change it and download the file again.
SARS registrations
PAYE reference, UIF reference, Labour UIF number, SDL reference and COIDA reference all go here. Each one is optional.
We check the format of anything you type. These numbers carry check digits, so a transposed pair of digits is caught here rather than when a submission fails.
If you have not registered as an employer yet, leave them blank. Our guide on how to register as an employer with SARS covers getting a PAYE reference, and UIF and SDL usually come with it.
Industry
Industry is optional and used by some statutory payroll reports. You can set it now or later.
Document theme and logo
Document theme and Upload logo control how your payslips and generated documents look. A logo here appears on payslips, so it is worth doing before your first payroll run rather than reissuing them afterwards.
Finish
Choose Finish & open apps. You land on the companies page with a Launch button for E·BIZI Pay.
If something was invalid, the screen tells you which field and why, and nothing is lost. Fix it and choose Finish & open apps again.
