A signer did not get the email
Somebody says they never got the document. Open the request and read two things before you resend anything: their state, and the delivery badge next to it.
Read the delivery badge
Open the request from Signing and look at the signatory's row. Next to their state sits a badge saying what happened to their invitation.
Sending... means it is queued and not confirmed yet. Minutes, not hours.
Delivered means the mail server accepted it. The email exists and is at their end, so the problem is their inbox, not us.
Bounced means it was rejected. Nine times out of ten the address is wrong.
Spam-filtered means it was quarantined on the way. Ask them to look in junk.
Sending... and Delivered disappear once they have opened or signed the document, because by then delivery is not in question. Bounced and Spam-filtered stay on the row.
Delivered, but they cannot find it
Ask them to search their mail for the request name rather than scrolling, and to check junk and any "other" or "promotions" tab.
Signing invitations are not sent from your own address, so the email will not be filed under your name and it will not be in a thread with you.
If they still cannot find it, resend. A fresh email is quicker than an argument.
Resend to one person
Open the request and choose Resend invitation on that signatory's row. They get a new email with a new link, and the old link stops working.
Resend works on a Sent request, for anybody who is still Pending or Viewed. On anything else there is nothing to resend.
If reminders were switched on when you sent the request, Papers is already nudging them on the days you chose, and resending is for when you want it to happen now. Each reminder carries a new link too, so it is always the latest email that works.
Bounced, or the address is wrong
You cannot correct a signatory's email on a request you have already sent. The roster is fixed at the moment you send.
So: void the request, giving "wrong email address" as the reason, and send a new one with the address corrected. See void a request or handle a decline.
Check the spelling in the new request before you send. A second bounce for the same reason is a bad look for you rather than for the signer.
Sending... that never changes
If the badge is still Sending... an hour later, the invitation has not been accepted for delivery and resending is unlikely to help either.
Report it with the request name and the signatory's email address. That is enough for us to find the send in our own logs.
Pending three days later, with Delivered next to it
Pending means they have not opened the document. Viewed means they have opened it and not signed.
Pending with Delivered for three days is usually a person, not a fault: the email arrived and they have not got to it. Phone them. The document itself is not the problem.
Viewed but not signed usually means they have a question about the document. Phone them for that too.
